Lesson #3: Traffic Strategy With Joint Venture (200,000 Unique Visitors)
What is a Joint Venture?
How do we FORM alliances with others?
How do we get partners to SHAKE hands with our proposal?
When we hear about joint venture, we always refer to
those big companies, such as: Google, Facebook, or even
Yahoo. However, the truth is very different. Big companies
and small companies do work with each other all the time.
It ALL depends on the level of the partnership itself.
In other words, if your business is relatively small,
you can NOT expect a big company will say “YES” to
your proposal. WHY?
There is NO benefit for them. It means that it has to
be BOTH WAYS. What do I mean by saying that?
“You get THIS. I get THAT!”
If it is only one way, there is NO WAY the other party
will agree to it. Believe me, I have been doing joint
ventures with thousands of marketers. When the reason of
the alliances with me is because I am handsome, FORGET IT!
They don’t care how handsome I am.
The question is…
“How Can We Make Potential Partners
to Say “YES” to The Proposal?”
Simple.
What IS In It For Me? (WIIIFM)
It is not a radio signal. Instead, it is an alliance
signal. It means that you have to know what a partner
really wants from you. If there is NO BENEFIT for them
at all, why should they even bother?
Why should they even CARE about working with you?
For example:
All these times, I have received many joint venture
proposals from partners and subscribers. If the partners
are STRONG and somebody that I want to work with in the
future, I will say YES to them.
However, if the potential partners are NOT even known
to the public, and have nothing to offer to me, I would
say NO directly.
Go ahead and ask yourself:
A. What can you offer to that partner?
B. Can you offer him MORE than just a commission?
C. Can you offer him your personal help?
D. Can you offer him an iressitible offer?
Just say if you approach Henry, you have NO big list.
you have no marketing experiences. You have no strong
network either. All you want is to give me a BIG chunk
of commission to sell your product.
“What makes you believe I will say YES
to joint venture with you?”
Most likely I will say “NO” to you, right?
How do you make me say “YES” to you then?
How do you make me say “OK, let’s give it a shot?”
Here is the formula you can use:
(1) How much money can I make?
Have you tested your sales conversion? Have you
other partners promoting your products? Do you have
any proof they make money as well? Do you have any
proof you, indeed, pay them?
Not ONLY is this important, this allows me to see
whether it is truly worth it or not to spend my
time on promoting your product.
Lists of PROOF:
- Sales conversion (Stats)
- Who was promoting? (Lists all the names)
- Who is endorsing you? (List of testimonials)
- Who is being paid? (Show form of payments)
- When and how do you pay?
The more PROOF you show to potential partners, the
higher your chance to get the partners promoting
your product. In other words, they are indirectly
money motivated by your evidence.
The more they feel that the money is REAL, the
higher their chances for them to promote your
product. NO EXCEPTION!
(2) How many subscribers will they receive?
As you have learned from lesson 2.1, building
list is NOT only important, but it is CRUCIAL for
all marketers.
It means MORE money for your business. This
is the reason WHY many marketers are heavily
spending their time on building their lists.
They know the FORMULA is:
“Subscribers = Traffic = Money”
They spend money on google adwords, ezine, and
other paid advertising, as a way to accumulate as
many subscribers as possible.
Now…
When you can provide marketers of a way to build
their lists, they are more open for your proposal.
Of course, it has to come with PROOF and past
performances.
In other words, if you can show them how many MORE
potential subscribers they will receive by promoting
your product, they will say YES to your joint
venture proposal.
Of course, everything has to come with proof and
the number of subscribers other partners have
received from your campaign.
(3) What other benefits can you offer to the potential
partners?
Partners who have more money may NOT care about
subscribers or the amount of commission they will
receive from promoting your campaign.
It means that you need to be more creative on WHAT
other benefits you can offer them.
Can you offer them residual traffic?
Can you offer them help with their businesses?
Can you offer them advice on certain skills that
they do not have?
What is it you can offer your potential partners
other than money and subscribers?
May be you have some expertise in blogging.
May be you are good in writing articles.
May be you are good in organizing websites.
May be you are an expert in copywriting.
Find out your skills and offer just that!
The BASIC key on joint venturing with others would be
what you can BETTER offer to the partners. When you
can focus on that, your partners will definitely love
to work with you compared to the mass.
Remember: In the web 2.0 era, it is all about being
aggressive with your plan. The more you show interest
to your partners, the higher your chance to have them
work with you in the years to come.
WORD OF ADVICE:
Focus on one strong partner at a time. Each partner
that promotes you can be easily equal to $1,000 -
$2,000 in sales. When you focus on 5 - 10 partners
per month, that is $5,000 - $10,000 per month income.
It means that there is NO NEED to chase after all
partners, as you have a limitation on the number
of partners you can serve in the beginning.

I just made a JV last month. It brought substantial traffic to me. However, I think I need to improve my content and after that launched more JV.

Henry, great idea! However, I feel that newbie Internet marketers first have to be taught how to contact potential JV partner.
I have many skills that can help me and other people make money. However, the world of JV is close knit and breaking into it is an ordeal. Somehow, people do not respond very well to a partner located in a developing country, like I am located. I know this from experience.
