Who Destroyed the Marketers’ Reputations?

WARNING: I know some of you may get upset with me, when I tell you the whole truth. However, I really want everyone to know the reality of the Internet marketing business, before the blame game starts to get worse. Thank you for understanding.

In the last three years, I have come to a big realization that every single time Marketers ask me to promote their product lines, I would have a difficult time saying “NO” to it, as these marketers have huge lists, and a lot of power.

Well, Think about this for a second…

If you receive one endorsement from a big marketer, you can easily earn $1,000 or more, wouldn’t you want to make sure that big marketers are happy?

Of course you do, right?

If you don’t, you may receive a lot of attitude, and the big marketers will start to remove you from their list of friendship. Not only is this the truth, but this is the reality of our industry. This is what we have mentioned many times about the law of reciprocation.

In other words, if you help me promote my product line, I will help you to promote yours.

However, as a small marketer, you do NOT have a large number of alliances, your choices are limited. In other words, you either continue with the big fish alliance and keep promoting their products, even though they may not promote yours, or you will STARVE to death on the street.

Let me give you an example…

Two years ago, I was only a small fish, no one recognized who I was in this field. Even though I have been selling online since 2001, I was still considered a newbie in the Internet marketing industry. When I started to approach Joint Ventures using Terry Dean’s techniques, I became extremely famous with 117ChristmasGifts.com, I had 5 well-known marketers who promoted my product line.

Three of them were very demanding. I gave them 75% affiliate commission, but they wanted more than just commission.

They asked me to promote their products to all of my lists. Though I have insisted to them, that I will promote them when the time is right, they were NOT satisfied at all. One of them cut ties with me immediately. He looked down at me as if I was a jerk.

At that time, I was feeling miserable because I had just lost the $7,000 great alliance. All I wanted to do was to protect my list from NOT being exposed to something they didn’t want to buy.

Again, the issue did NOT stop there, it was getting WORSE. In fact, after I became famous with 117ChristmasGifts.com, many people came to me for joint ventures. I tried not to promote too many marketers at a time, as my plate is full with my own projects.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be a big DISASTER. Many marketers started to blame me, and think I did not want to promote them at all. This was a big frustration, I was trying my best to protect my subscribers from being exposed to unnecessary product lines.

This is why you see marketers send offer after offer.
This is why you see marketers who keep abusing their lists.

In some parts of their minds, they really have no choice, where they were either promoting their products line, or they will be in for a disaster.

You can consider that I was one of the tough marketers.
You can consider that I was trying my best to do the right thing.

However, think about this for a moment…

Who will survive going through these tough times, like I did?
Who wants to lose $7,000 in alliances?
Who wants to jeopardize their relationship with people on the top, where it is actually their bread and butter?

The truth is… It is a impossible thing for small marketers to do. They all have a dream. They all want to quit their jobs, so one day, they can spend more time with their family and friends.

Rational thinking was not there. As fear and greed set in, many marketers started to forget their principles, that business is business. People should not take it as if they should use it to please competitors, but it should be to please their consumers.

This is how the bubble of the Internet marketing takes place.
This is how the failure of the Internet marketing will take place in the next two years.

Who should we blame?
Who destroyed the marketers’ reputations?

I am not going to be the judge.
I just want you to know that small marketers, are NOT always wrong.
Big marketers are NOT always right.

In other words…

For small marketers, they WANT to grow as fast as they can.
For big marketers, if you don’t promote me, you are not one of my alliances.

Again, Who is to blame? Who is to judge?
