Why Being Snobby Works?
I recently had a discussion with my coaching partner, Gina
Gaudio-Graves. She has done a study that showed, most marketers
who are SUPER successful on the Internet business are either
VERY SNOBBY or SUPER SNOBBY. (No differences, anyway!)
She referred to guys like:
… Henry Gold (Am I?)
… Mark Joyner
… Gary Halbert
… Many others
Gina told me that all the guys above are EXTREMELY snobby.
In fact, when she reads one of my articles, she feels
that many medium and small marketers would be afraid to talk
with Henry Gold or Terry Dean.
They all thought we are VERY SNOBBY!
This made me think carefully…
“Am I really a snob?”
“Am I really a marketer others are afraid of?”
“Am I confident in what I do?”
You see… Since I was a kid, I have been known by many
friends as a guy who is NEVER afraid of anything. I fought.
I made impossible things, possible. I made many major
breakthroughs in my own life.
I became a multi-millionaire when I was 21 years old.
In addition…
When Marketers told me I couldn’t do it, I PROVED them wrong
by telling them… “I do NOT need your advice, unless it
is something valuable to help me get what I want”
When Marketers told me it can’t be done, I PROVED them
wrong by making the IMPOSSIBLE, possible.
When many friends told me to find a job, I TOLD them
I don’t need one, and I will create my own
empire.
When many friends tried to shut me down by saying, “CMON
Henry, get a job man”, I PROVED them wrong by making it
big online.
Today… “Those so-called FRIENDS, have nothing bad
to say about my success”.
They all tell me what I want to hear.
I am the best.
I am a genius.
I can be what I want to be.
When they OCCASSIONALLY try to pull me down, I pick myself
up with NO HESITATION. This is who I am. This is what I do.
This is what makes me stronger than ever.
I am NOT sure if I agree, that I am a SNOB.
If I could make a quick guess, I would call the attitude
that I have as… a “CAN-DO” Attitude. Perhaps, you can
call it, Henry is a person who does NOT need other people’s
approval in order to make the decision.
This may be translated by many of you guys as being a snob.
Personally, I will call it… “I am not a needy person”.
I depend on my own judgment to make a decision in my life.
This is why I appear to be snobby in others people’ eyes.
Give me your thoughts!
I want to know what you think of Henry Gold as well.

I read your blog all the time and you give out great information. I don’t consider you a snob. You have earned where you are at and we are all trying to get where you are at. Snob no successful yes. In my eyes I consider you a friend who is trying to help people. Jealousy will sometimes make people say things that just aren’t true.

I am pleading insanity. Any morning, I have 88 e-mails waiting, telling me how many money making schemes I’m missing out on, how many tons of orders I’m not getting, how many domains are expiring while I’m wasting time. I buy subscriptions, expired domains, parking spaces, mentoring services, CD upon CD, memberships and 30 day trials. But no one has yet to tell me the one thing I really need to know….what do I do when I first turn on the computer and get busy? HOW DO YOU MARKET ON THE INTERNET?

Jayn,
I think you are in a state of information
overload. You need to think outside the
box on what marketers trying to put
you into.
Whatever they say, do, and send to you,
it is part of their marketing efforts.
How do you market online?
Find the hungry crowds!

Some successful people are, but as far
as you Henry, not at all. You continue
to give quality information and help
other entrepreneurs to continue to
grow and expand they’re business,
and that’s what it’s all about…

You don’t seem like a SNOB to me. It seems you are quite confident and like to let others know about your success. Many others online do the same.
I am sure you deserve it.
The fact that you care to even ask is a real winner my book. I think it’s a first. Congrats!
It sure beats a sharp stick in the eye, or another OTO.

Yes Henry,
You are a SNOB! In fact you’re a true SNOB.
You’re a….
“Super Nova Of Business” (S.N.O.B)
The writing you create is excellent. The words hit home. And I’m delighted to say that the meaning you get across (to me), is very Ayn Rand. It’s great to get some inspiring and uplifting ‘messages’, as opposed to the usual ‘robotic’ generated messages…..
So Henry, keep being a SNOB
Cheers,
Col

Hi! No, I don’t believe you are a snob. I read all that you write (emails and posts) and I find it all very informational and have been trying to implement it all. You just know what you want and you know how to go after it! I know what I want, it’s the going after it part that is nuts. (especially on a non millionaire’s budget). Thanks.

HI Henry,
I don’t think you should have to justify yourself to anyone. For me I appreciate the freedom I have that other friends do not with a JOB.
You have to have confidence and I see that as Self Confidence and some do get threatened especially the insecure I find.
Hey Henry your the living proof what you did worked, so stick it up their noses I say, lol.

Nah… You’re no snob. Know how I can tell? I’ve spent the last several days canceling mailing lists from all those blasted give-aways that only increase my information overload and clutter my inbox. But I never canceled you. I honestly can’t think why not… I can’t remember any particular advice or software or ebook from you that was any better than anyone else’s… I just like you. Maybe it’s because your name is Henry. How can you not like a guy named Henry?

Of course you are a snob. Comes with the territory. I think that when one speaks from authority, the audience is naturally in an inferior position if they don’t have the same expertise that you do.
I guess it depends on your definition of snob. Are you better than me? At IM, yes. And you probably know it. At life? Who knows? I don’t know you personally, so I couldn’t say.
That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy reading your insights and your sense of humor, just means, to me, that you are in a position of superiority.

Hello Henry,
Reading your post, I can’t help but think that how some people perceive your attitude online also depends on their own perception of themselves.
For those who have a sense of confidence and a healthy self-esteem, your attitude would probably a welcome and reinforcing thing.
For those who may have problems concerning their image, and are quite intimidated by others’ confidence, you may come as a bit “snobby.”
There’s simply no easy way to go around this. We have no control over people’s mindsets nor should we desire to do so.
We can only be true to ourselves.
We will rub others the wrong way, while please others without even trying.
Just remain true to yourself, Henry. It’s why I, and countless others, read your posts.
And no, I don’t find you snobby at all!

Henry, I VERY seldom reply to blogs, (and I know I should) but I have a reply to this one. I have thought a lot of things about you, Smart, helpful, knowledgeable, I’ve even at times thought “Damn, I wish I was like Henry Gold”….but I’ve never thought of you as being a Snob!! I read your emails, read your blogs, I’m even a paid member of your Resale-Rights-Solution.com.
Because I like you, I like your attitude, and I think you really do want to be helpful to people and just because you ARE a genius at what you do don’t make you a snob, it just means you are someone to listen to and learn from. You don’t act like you think you are better than the rest of us, but you do let us know you know what you are talking about and we can learn from you if we will just listen.
Now R.J. on the other hand…..I wouldn’t buy a cup of water from him if I was dying of thirst in the desert. He might be RICHER than most of us but he’s not BETTER than us. He IS a snob! and naaaah, I don’t wanna be like him.

I think they call you a snob…because your rich…if not…they will call you asshole…hehe….Only two kinds of persons in this world…the successful and the not…
so…that’s ok…because they just want to be where you are…a rich snob…Dont worry..you have the money anyway…so what….

SNOB? I dont right to judge you Henry.
But there only two blogs that I always look at every single day. (Just bluffing? Look your tracking and I will find me!). First yours and the second is the John Delavera’s. What it proofs for?
Instead of seeing you as snob or not, I prefer giving my own ideas on your site (www.henrygold.com).
1. the posts were too short. (believe me I like read a long but quality posting).
2. they seemed talking the same thing - trafficts and the important of web 2.0 (are there no more interesting matters?
You not necessary think due to I am totally no one in the net but he… I am your loyal reader.
3. The last part of everypost was (the sale-refere) - after a while - little boring. Is it your writing style? I wonder?
4. Your new site (117softwaregoodies.com) is more complicated than thesupergifts.com for newbee like me. Is that necessary like that Henry?
5. Lately, you rather lazy to post your own writing. (But I just find the reasons lately).
So, Are you Snob? So be it! Who care? At least me.
Best

I love reading your articles! They are very informative and have taught me a lot. As for being a snob. I think people mistaken snobbery with confidence.
You are very confident, you know what you want and how you’re going to get it. I don’t think that makes you a snob at all. Some people say I am a snob, or don’t care what others think. I listen to what others have to say, and if I don’t think they are right, or if my opinion isn’t the same as theirs, then I am a snob.
I just am very focused on what I want to achieve and if that makes me a snob then so be it! I would rather be a snob and be successful and happy, than cater to those that are just jealous and consider me snobby .
